Explosion at Rameshwaram Cafe; Four suspects are in police custody

Four suspects have been arrested by the police in connection with the explosion at the Rameshwaram Cafe in the state capital, Bengaluru. The four suspects are being interrogated by intelligence officials at an undisclosed location.

On March 1 around 1 pm, a mysterious explosion took place at Rameswaram Cafe, a famous hotel near Kundalahalli, Whitefield. Many doubts have arisen about the incident. At present, various investigation teams have been conducting investigations throughout the night and gathering information. At present, four people have been detained and are being interrogated.

At present, the police have got the CCTV footage, and a suspect has come to Rameshwaram Cafe wearing a mask on his face, cooling glasses for his eyes, a white cap, and carrying a black bag on his shoulder.

After taking the token in the cafe, he ate semolina idli kept the bag he had brought near the cafe’s basin, and looked at the time on the watch. He came out of the cafe and went to the left side.

About an hour after he left, the bomb exploded. All this was caught on CCTV footage. It is suspected that the bomb was planted by a suspect wearing a cap.

Another person is said to have left on a bike. It is said that the police are interrogating the suspicious persons.

Police investigating the incident have registered a case under the Unlawful Activities Act (UAPA) and the Explosive Substances Act.

The police have formed eight teams to track down the suspected bomber. In connection with the case, four suspects have been taken into custody and interrogated by intelligence officials at an undisclosed location, sources said.

“Regarding the Rameshwaram Cafe incident, the police investigation is going on at a fast pace. Based on the clues found at the scene, many police teams are investigating from different angles. This is a sensitive case related to security issues,” Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Dayananda tweeted.

“The bomb exploded on March 1 at 1 pm. A total of 10 people were injured in the blast, including hotel staff and customers—no loss of life. A case under UAE has been registered at HAL police station. “Forensic experts and bomb disposal squad have visited the spot and carried out an investigation,” Bangalore City Police informed.

A meeting of police officers will be held at Home Office Krishna with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at 1 pm regarding this incident. Director General of Police Alok Mohan, City Police Commissioner Dayanand, and many others will participate in the meeting.
