Heavy Rain Forecasted in Karnataka District for the Next 6 Days

Bengaluru: Monsoon rains have intensified across Karnataka, with many districts experiencing heavy rainfall over the past week.

Silicon City Bengaluru has been particularly impacted, facing significant disruptions due to the incessant downpour. Coastal and southern inland regions have also witnessed heavy rainfall, while even the northern hinterlands have not been spared from the monsoon’s wrath.

The Meteorological Department has forecast continued rainfall across the state for the next six days. Sixteen districts, including Bengaluru, Kolar, Mandya, Belgaum, Dharwad, Haveri, Kadur, Shimoga, Mandya, Chitradurga, Davangere, Belgaum, Haveri, Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Chikmagalur, Dharwad, and Bengaluru Rural, are expected to receive heavy rainfall. A yellow alert has been issued for these districts.

On Thursday, October 23rd, Bengaluru, Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dharwad, Belgaum, Haveri, Mandya, Mysore, Hassan, Kodagu, Ramanagara, Tumkur, Chitradurga districts are anticipated to experience heavy rain. The India Meteorological Department has predicted moderate rain or thundershowers in the remaining districts of southern and northern interior Karnataka, while light to moderate rain is expected in coastal Kannada districts.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely to occur along the coast on October 24th. Similar weather conditions are expected to persist until October 27th.

CS Patil, the Director of the Meteorological Department, has warned of torrential rain in many parts of the coast and southern hinterland. While the northern interior may receive less rainfall, moderate rain is possible in Bengaluru over the next five days. In response to the heavy rainfall, a high alert has been issued, and schools have been given a holiday.
