Heavy rains expected in Karnataka this weekend, 12 districts receive yellow alert

For the next two days, 12 Karnataka districts are expected to see severe rain, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Residents of Bengaluru awoke on Saturday to overcast conditions, and the prediction has already sparked anxiety among the public in the aftermath of the recent floods.

The city’s Mahadevapura and Bommanahalli neighbourhoods, which are home to major IT and BT enterprises and a substantial portion of techies from around the nation, have been severely disrupted by the nonstop downpours.

For the north Karnataka districts of Bagalkot, Belagavi, Kalaburagi, Raichur, and Vijayapura, a yellow alert has been issued. The south Karnataka districts of Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Kolar, Ramnagar, and Tumakuru will also see rain. Central Karnataka’s Chitradurga and Davangere districts were also on yellow alert. It’s also expected that the coastal region, which recently saw considerable rains, may get light showers.
