Naziya Kousar Becomes Karnataka’s First News Anchor to Receive a Doctorate from Bangalore University

Bengaluru: Naziya Kousar, a prominent news anchor, has made history by becoming the first news anchor in Karnataka to earn a doctorate from Bangalore University. She was awarded her degree during the university’s 59th annual convocation at the Jnana Jyothi auditorium.

Karnataka’s Higher Education Minister, Dr. M.C. Sudhakar, presented the doctorate to Naziya for her research on “The Role and Functions of Public Relations in Effective Implementation of Wakf Board Programmes: A Case Study.” Her work was completed under the guidance of Prof. Jagadeesh Prakash, former Head of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Bangalore University.

Naziya’s research emphasizes the need for the Wakf Board to enhance its public engagement. She has expressed plans to submit her findings to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.
