Indore (PTI): Chintu Verma, BJP district president of Indore, has stirred controversy by urging Navratri organizers to make attendees perform “aachman” (ritual purification) with gaumutra (cow urine) before entering garba pandals.
Verma claimed that a true Hindu would never refuse this practice, which he says holds significance in Sanatan culture.
Explaining the reasoning behind the demand, Verma said the aachman would help prevent unwanted attendees and maintain the sanctity of the event. However, Congress spokesperson Neelabh Shukla criticized the move as another polarizing tactic by the BJP, accusing them of ignoring issues like cow shelter conditions while focusing on such rituals.
Shukla further challenged BJP leaders to publicly sip cow urine before entering garba pandals and post the videos online.
