16-Year-Old Stabbed to Death by Friends After Refusing to Treat Them for New Phone in East Delhi

New Delhi (PTI): A 16-year-old boy was fatally stabbed by three of his classmates in East Delhi’s Shakarpur on Monday evening. The incident occurred after the victim refused to treat his friends to a celebration after buying a new phone.

The accused, all 16-year-old Class 9 students, were apprehended by police on Tuesday. Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Apoorva Gupta said the stabbing took place in broad daylight near Ramji Samosa shop. The victim, identified as Sachin, was taken to LNJP Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

According to police, the altercation began when the group demanded a party to mark the purchase of the new phone. When Sachin refused, a heated argument ensued, culminating in the stabbing. The accused used a dagger, which has been recovered by authorities.

A case has been registered against the three juveniles under relevant sections of the Juvenile Justice Act. Police utilized CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the suspects.
