Controversy Erupts Over Viral Video of Namaz Being Performed on Moving Train

New Delhi: A video showing a group of Muslims performing Namaz on a moving train has gone viral, sparking widespread debate on social media. The incident, which reportedly took place during a long-distance journey, shows about seven or eight passengers standing in the aisle to perform their prayers, disrupting the movement of other travelers.

In the video, a ticket inspector, who arrived on the scene while the passengers were praying, can be heard addressing the group sternly. “This is not a mosque,” he said, urging the group to avoid obstructing the path. “It is wrong to stand on the road and pray like this. Be careful not to disturb others with your prayers,” the inspector emphasized, instructing the group to clear the way for other passengers.

The ticket inspector’s remarks and actions were later shared by other passengers on social media, where the incident quickly gained attention and sparked debate. In the video, the inspector can be heard saying, “Are you ashamed? Look at how many people are suffering because of you. Stop your Namaz immediately. This is a train, not a Namaz carriage. Isn’t there a common understanding that all classes travel here?” He also warned that if the prayers did not cease, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) would be called to intervene.

The viral video has since triggered discussions online, with opinions sharply divided. Some social media users have criticized the ticket inspector, labeling his remarks as insensitive and accusing him of caste discrimination. Others, however, have defended the inspector, arguing that he was simply ensuring the comfort and convenience of all passengers. “The ticket checker spoke maturely,” one user commented. “He never said it was wrong to perform Namaz. He only said that your religious practices should not cause trouble to others.”
