High Court Receives Third Petition Seeking Dismissal of Arvind Kejriwal as Delhi CM

Taking note of the third public petition filed seeking a direction to dismiss Arvind Kejriwal from the post of Delhi Chief Minister, who has been arrested in connection with the excise policy scam, the Delhi High Court has warned that if such a petition is filed again, a heavy fine will be imposed.

The Public Interest Litigation was filed by former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Sandeep Kumar. Justice Subramoniam Prasad, who heard this today, said sternly, “If you come with this kind of petition again, you will have to impose a heavy penalty on you.”

“A similar petition has already been dismissed after being heard by a division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora. The present appeal is nothing but in the interest of publicity. If it is repeated, we will impose a heavy fine,” the judge vented his anger against former Aam Aadmi MLA Sandeep Kumar.

After that, “Acting Chief Justice Manmohan’s bench has already heard two similar petitions in the past. Therefore, we will transfer it to the bench of Acting Chief Justice,” he said. The hearing will be held on Wednesday (April 10).

This is the third petition to dismiss Delhi CM Kejriwal from the post of CM. Earlier, on March 28, Surjit Singh Yadav and on April 4, Hindu Sena president Vishnu Gupta’s petitions were rejected.

While rejecting the petition, he said, “It is Kejriwal’s personal decision to continue as CM. The High Court clearly stated that the President or the Lieutenant Governor of India should decide on this.
