With Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in jail in the Excise Policy case, Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal has played a key role in the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Lok Sabha election campaign.
Sunita Kejriwal, who entered the political arena last month with her Khadak speech at the All India rally, is now the AAP’s campaigner for the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi and other states.
Sunita Kejriwal will hold a mega road show in the national capital today (April 27) in support of AAP’s East Delhi candidate Kuldeep Kumar.
“Opposing Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest, his wife Sunita Kejriwal has come forward to seek people’s blessings for Kejriwal. AAP will be campaigning for candidates. He will be blessed by the people of Delhi, Punjab, Gujarat, and Haryana,” announced Delhi Minister Atishi.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested in March. After that, Kejriwal’s wife Sunita will now drive AAP’s campaign. Information is available that he is playing an important role.
“Kejriwal’s wife is the best person to bring unity to the party at present. “His presence has had a positive effect on party workers,” said Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj.
Sunita Kejriwal participated in the mega rally of India Union held in Delhi and Ranchi last month. The opposition lashed out at the BJP for allegedly misusing central institutions to harass opposition-ruled states at the rally.
Sunita Kejriwal has held three digital media briefings so far. Mainly Arvind Kejriwal has been doing the work of conveying his messages to the people.
Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) last month in a money laundering case related to the Excise policy scam. AAP has said that no law prevents him from running the government from jail, and Kejriwal remains the chief minister today.
Sunita Kejriwal is a former Indian Revenue Services (IRS) officer who served in the Income Tax Department for 22 years. She met Arvind Kejriwal during a training program in Bhopal and the two got married in 1995.
Sunita is a 1994 batch while Arvind Kejriwal is a 1995 batch officer. Sunita took voluntary retirement in 2016. Last served as Commissioner of Income Tax in Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, Delhi.
