Massive Fire in Delhi’s Kanchan Kunj Slum; 11 Fire Engines Deployed

New Delhi: A significant fire erupted in a slum in Kanchan Kunj, Madanpur Khadar, Delhi, late last night. Officials reported that thick smoke was visible, prompting the dispatch of 11 fire tenders to the scene.

Firefighters successfully extinguished the blaze and are currently conducting a cooling operation. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, though the cause of the fire remains unclear and is under investigation.

This incident follows a similar fire on September 8 in a garment factory in Delhi’s Bakkarwala area, which was triggered by an LPG cylinder explosion. Firefighters managed to control that fire as well, which involved thick smoke and intense flames from the building’s first floor.
