Akhilesh Yadav’s Daring Gate-Jump: Last Year’s JPNIC Controversy Reignites

Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav jumped over the gate and entered the Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan International Convention Centre (JPNIC) in Lucknow last year, defying security measures. The incident occurred on Jayaprakash Narayan’s birth anniversary when Yadav attempted to pay floral tributes to the leader’s statue.

The gate was locked, and metal sheets blocked the path to prevent Yadav’s entry. However, he climbed over the gate, followed by SP workers, who also jumped over the gate and entered the premises. The security personnel were caught off guard.

Yadav then garlanded Jayaprakash Narayan’s statue and exited. His daring act was captured in photos that went viral on social media.

Addressing the media afterward, Yadav condemned the government’s “dictatorial” behaviour. The incident sparked chaos, with SP workers protesting outside.

This year, ahead of Yadav’s scheduled visit to JPNIC for Jayaprakash Narayan’s birth anniversary, the center has been sealed, with barricades in place and police deployed.

Heavy police deployment was also seen outside Yadav’s residence. The SP chief criticized the Yogi government, stating they were attempting to suppress democratic rights.
