BJP Shake-Up: UP President to be Replaced by January, Dalit or Brahmin Face to Take Charge?

The Uttar Pradesh BJP president is likely to change. The process of change has begun, and if everything goes smoothly, the party may get a new president by January next year.

Preparations to change the UP BJP president have started. During a recent workshop in Delhi, the goal was set to hold organizational elections at all levels by January 2025.

According to sources, BJP national president JP Nadda has asked election officers and state in-charges of all states to immediately start the election process for district, Mandal, area, and state-level organizations.

In view of the 2027 elections, the BJP may make a Dalit or backward community face the state president. However, top leadership is also considering a Brahmin face that could benefit the party. Nevertheless, the focus remains on Dalit and backward faces.

Several current and former office-bearers who have handled responsibilities in the state organization, ministers, and former public representatives are staking claim to the state president’s chair.

The list of BJP candidates for the upcoming by-elections in the state may be released today, Tuesday. State President Bhupendra Chaudhary hinted at this himself.

Chaudhary said the state core committee had sent a panel of names to the top leadership, which the Central Election Committee has approved.

The state BJP had sent a panel of three names for each seat to the central leadership a week ago. The committee has selected candidates from this panel.

However, some sources claim the list of all candidates will be released on Wednesday.

State President Bhupendra Chaudhary and General Secretary (Organization) Dharampal attended a workshop organized at the party’s central office in Delhi on Monday regarding organizational elections.

Note that the last date for nomination for the by-election is October 25, so the party wants to release the list soon.
