Varanasi court is going to deliver order on Gyanvapi Masjid case today

All eyes remain on the Varanasi court today as it is slated to deliver an important order in the Gyanvapi Masjid case today, September 12, which can potentially lead to the end of the dispute which has been making headlines since last year.

Security has been tightened and prohibitory orders were imposed in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi ahead of the district court order on the maintainability of the plea in the Gyanvapi mosque-Shringar Gauri complex case.

The court will hear a petition filed by five women, seeking permission for daily worship of Hindu deities whose idols are said to be located on an outer wall of the Gyanvapi mosque.

The court of District Judge AK Vishevesh had last month reserved the order till September 12 (Monday) in the communally sensitive matter. To maintain law and order after the announcement of the verdict, the temple town has been divided into sectors and allocated to the police force, said Police Commissioner A Satish Ganesh.
