Kolkata (PTI): TMC MP Mahua Moitra has complained with the Lokpal against SEBI chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch, alleging “quid pro quo arrangements” that could threaten national interests.
Moitra’s complaint, filed both electronically and physically, demands a preliminary investigation by the CBI or ED within 30 days, followed by a full inquiry.
In her three-page letter, Moitra emphasized the need for a thorough probe, citing concerns about national security and the interests of millions of investors. The complaint comes after US-based Hindenburg Research alleged SEBI’s reluctance to act against the Adani Group, accusing Buch of having stakes in offshore funds linked to the conglomerate—claims Buch has denied as “baseless.”
The TMC has previously called for Buch’s suspension, citing the gravity of the allegations.
