Bengaluru: Hours after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) lodged a case against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his wife BM Parvati announced on Monday her decision to return 14 compensatory land plots allocated by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
In a letter addressed to MUDA, Parvati, who is also under investigation in a money-laundering case related to the authority, emphasized the importance of her family’s honor over wealth. “The dignity of my family is paramount. I have not consulted my husband or any family member regarding this decision,” she wrote.
The ED’s investigation into the alleged irregularities follows a Lokayukta police probe accusing Siddaramaiah and others of improper land allocation under a controversial 50:50 program by MUDA.
