Indian dairy giant Amul has been announced as the official sponsor for the USA cricket team in the upcoming T20 World Cup in June, as declared by the country’s cricket board on Thursday.
This marks the USA’s debut in the tournament, which they will co-host starting from June 1, with some matches, including the semifinals and finals, set to be held in the Caribbean.
At an event held in New York, Amul was unveiled as the Lead Arm sponsor of the USA national team. The tournament will kick off with a match between USA and Canada on June 1.
Amul, renowned for its dairy products globally, has previously sponsored cricket teams, including the Netherlands, and is now expanding its presence in the USA with the sale of Amul milk.
Following a recent 4-0 victory over Canada in a bilateral series, Venu Pisike, Chairman of USA Cricket, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “Collaborating with esteemed brands like Amul inspires us to strive for excellence both on and off the field.”
Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of Amul, added, “The goodness of Amul Milk will empower the USA Cricket team to win hearts and laurels from across the world. We wish our best to the team for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024.”
