Suryakumar Yadav to lead the India team, will captain the T20 Series of India Vs Australia

Suryakumar Yadav will be the captain for team India for the five-match T20I series against Australia which will take place from November 23, 2023, in Visakhapatnam.

The team will consist some fresh players as the main squad is given rest following the long tenure of the ICC World Cup, 2023. While the opening batter Ruturaj Gaikwad has been termed as the vice-captain for the series against the newly-crowned ICC World Cup winners. Indian team only picked three players from the squad of the ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 and those are Prasidh Krishna, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav himself. However, Shreyas Iyer will also join the men in blue to perform in the last two T20 matches which are to take place in Raipur and Bengaluru, while taking over the role of vice-captain from Gaikwad.

The second T20I will take place in Thiruvananthapuram while Guwahati will host the third T20I. Hardik Pandya will have to face nother disappointment as he will have to miss the upcoming series following his ankle injury in the World Cup Match. The all round had earlier accompanied the team to the wins in the previous matches in the World Cup. Sanju Samson does not get a place in the squad.

India’s squad:Suryakumar Yadav (Captain), Ruturaj Gaikwad (vice-captain), Ishan Kishan, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Shivam Dubey, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar. Shreyas Iyer will join the squad as vice-captain for the last two T20Is in Raipur and Bengaluru.
