Virat Kohli has withdrawn from all Test matches against England: BCCI announced the team

The BCCI gave an official statement on Saturday that Team India’s star player Virat Kohli, who was out of the first two Test matches against England due to personal reasons, will not appear in the remaining three Tests.

Two Test matches have already been played in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam. While England won the first match, Team India won the second Test to level the five-match Test series at 1-1.

The remaining three Tests will be held in Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharamsala. The selectors were supposed to meet in an online meeting to decide the squad for these Tests. Kohli informed the BCCI about the unavailability of the three Tests.

Kohli, the former captain of Team India, informed the selectors about his decision to withdraw from the remaining three Tests. We respect his decision,” the BCCI said in an official release today.

This is the first time that Virat Kohli will miss an entire series at home. Virat Kohli will miss an entire series for the first time in his 13-year Test career.

Virat Kohli, who has played 191 innings in 113 matches in Test cricket, has scored 8,848 runs at an average of 49.16. He has scored a total of 29 centuries so far. His highest score was 254 not out.

KL Rahul and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who missed the second Test match due to injury, have taken their place. Youngster Sarfaraz Khan was selected for the second Test match. But did not get a place in the last 11.

Sarfaraz Khan’s name is in the next three matches. But it remains to be seen when he will make his debut. Meanwhile, Dhruv Jurel has also been given a place as a wicketkeeper.

Meanwhile, Bengal pacer Akash Deep is the only new face in the 17-man squad.
