Iran: 32 people died in a fire at a rehabilitation centre

Doha: A fire broke out at a rehabilitation centre in northern Iran.

Media reported that 32 people died and 16 people were injured in the incident.

The incident took place at a drug addiction rehabilitation centre in Langerud, in the Caspian Sea province of Gilan.

The police said that they had arrested others including the manager of the rehabilitation centre in connection with the incident and are interrogating them.

According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Iran is the country facing the most severe addiction problems in the world.
