Leaders of the INDIA Alliance have decided to boycott some TV programs and presenters without participating in the programme.

A media sub-committee of INDIA Alliance Coordination Committee has been formed in this regard and the committee is preparing the names of presenters and programs to be boycotted.

In the first meeting of the INDIA Alliance Coordination Committee held at Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar’s house, a decision was taken to list anchors and programs in order to boycott certain media.

The Congress alleged that a section of the media gave scant coverage during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. People have supported the Yatra, only social networks have given more support to the Yatra. But the mainstream media continues to boycott Rahul’s Yatra, said Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

My allegation is that the editors have boycotted the Yatra. Lakhs of people join the Yatra. Will you not show such a great yatra? Asked the Chief Minister of Rajasthan.

In May 2019, the Congress boycotted television programs for a month.

The Congress had decided not to send spokespersons for televised debates for a month. Senior party leader Randeep Surjewala had posted on X that media channels and editors have been requested not to have Congress representatives on their programmes.

Speaking on behalf of all the 12 parties that participated in the coordination committee meeting, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal said that the leaders of the Alliance of India will boycott some TV programs and the media sub-committee will list the TV shows and presenters in this regard.
