JERUSALEM: Israel, which is fighting Hezbollah forces, carried out airstrikes again on Monday, killing 274 people and injuring more than 700, Lebanon said in a statement.
We are intensifying our attacks in Lebanon. These measures will continue until we achieve our goal of safely returning the residents of the North to their homes. The Israeli military said that 300 targets were attacked today.
It was the deadliest attack on Lebanon since the conflict began in October, killing 274 people, including 21 children, and injuring more than 5,000, according to the Lebanese health ministry.
“274 people, including children and women, have been killed and 5000 others injured in attacks by Israeli enemies on towns and villages in the south since dawn,” the health ministry said.
About 600 people voted in Israel’s attacks on Lebanon since last October. At least 31 people, including a Hezbollah commander, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital Beirut last Saturday.
