Grand Kannada Rajyotsava Plans Announced: Flag Hoisting Mandatory in Schools, Colleges, and Offices

Bengaluru: Karnataka’s 50th Kannada Rajyotsava will be celebrated in grand style on November 1, with Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar making it mandatory for all schools, colleges, factories, and IT-BT offices to hoist the Kannada flag.

Speaking to the media, Shivakumar emphasized the significance of November 1 for Karnataka, urging both residents and non-residents to participate. “Bengaluru has a large population from outside the state. Even they should learn Kannada and celebrate Rajyotsava. The Kannada flag should be hoisted and respected like the national flag, showing devotion to the state,” he said.

Shivakumar also stressed the importance of cultural programs and warned of action against organizations that do not comply with the government’s directive. He clarified that no Kannada organization should pressure others regarding Rajyotsava celebrations, as it is a government order.

In addition to the Rajyotsava celebration plans, Shivakumar mentioned that a sub-committee, under his leadership, has been formed to investigate the Corona scandal, and discussions on central government tax distribution would follow the festival.
