Temple Terror: Drunk Youth’s Vandalism Sparks Outrage in Raebareli

A drunken youth in Raebareli’s Bachrawan police station area vandalized a temple, breaking over half a dozen idols, including those of Goddess Durga, Santoshi Mata, and Saraswati Mata.

The incident occurred at the Chandrika Devi temple in Raghapur village. Villagers alleged that Vijay Kumar Pasi, a local resident, entered the temple late Thursday night, intoxicated, and wielding a stick.

He smashed the idols and a pot inside the temple. Upon learning of the vandalism, villagers rushed to the scene and found the idols shattered on the ground, sparking widespread outrage.

Police arrived promptly and arrested Vijay Kumar Pasi. Officer Om Prakash Tiwari confirmed that a report has been filed against Pasi, and legal action is underway.

The police have increased surveillance in the area to prevent further unrest.
