Hijab Row: Students moved Supreme Court against Karnataka High Court Interim Order

New Delhi: The High Court has ruled that no religious attire is allowed in the college till the trial. Now the students have moved to Supreme Court against this interim order.

Karnataka HC Chief Justice : We are ready to decide the issue at the earliest. But we feel that peace and tranquillity should be restored. Till decision, you should not insist for wearing these religious clothes which are not conducive.

It has been argued that the Karnataka government has issued an order to deny Hijab-wearing Muslim women access to education in a special leave petition.

According to the petitioner, the impugned order was cited as a complete violation of Articles 14, 15, 19, 21 and 25 of the Indian Constitution.
