Kalyan: An elderly Muslim man, Haji Ashraf Munyar, from Jalgaon District was allegedly abused and brutally beaten by several individuals while traveling to Kalyan to visit his daughter. The assault occurred near Igatpuri, reportedly over accusations of carrying beef.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with many demanding strict action against the attackers. Following the attack, rumors falsely circulated that Munyar had committed suicide, but his family confirmed that he is safe and currently at his daughter’s home in Kalyan. His son, Ashfaq, has lodged a police complaint at the Igatpuri Railway Police station.
