The Shaheen Group of Institutions, renowned for bridging traditional and modern education across India, has been at the forefront of connecting madrasa students with contemporary educational opportunities. This initiative has helped many students excel in competitive exams and secure positions as doctors, engineers, and other professionals.
In recognition of the institution’s innovative “Academic Intensive Care Unit” (AICU) model, the Karnataka Department of Minority Welfare has launched the “Karnataka Madrasa Plus” program. The program aims to integrate students from 100 religious madrasas across Karnataka with modern education, offering part-time courses in English, Kannada, Mathematics, Science, and Data Entry, alongside religious studies.
The program will be delivered over two years. In the first six months, foundational courses in English and Mathematics will be taught through the AICU model. From the seventh to the ninth month, basic subjects including Kannada and Science will be added. During the 10th to 24th month, students will receive training in data entry operations, along with secondary-level education (10th grade) in English, Mathematics, and Science under the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).
Admissions are open for boys and girls aged 12 to 20 across Karnataka, especially those who are not currently attending school or a madrasa. This is a valuable opportunity for students to receive a 10th-grade education alongside essential religious instruction in 100 selected madrasas.
Community leaders, including imams, mosques, muezzins, and scholars, are encouraged to identify eligible students and contact the zonal administration for enrollment.
