Mumbai Police Arrest 4 in Baba Siddique Murder Case; Suspects Learned Shooting from YouTube

Mumbai Police have made significant progress in the investigation into the murder of former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique, arresting four individuals and identifying three others as suspects. The apprehended suspects, Gurmail Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap, reportedly honed their shooting skills by watching YouTube tutorials.

According to reports, the accused had meticulously surveilled Siddique’s residence and office for 25 days before the attack. Gurmail Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap are believed to have practiced shooting in Mumbai without using a magazine, having studied shooting techniques online. Law enforcement authorities have recovered a black bag containing a 7.62 mm gun, which is believed to have been used in the crime.

Harish Kumar Balakram, a 23-year-old scrap dealer from Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested for allegedly providing financial assistance and logistical support to the murderers. Balakram’s shop in Pune employed two of the suspects, Dharmaraj and Shivprasad Gautam, who remain at large.

Baba Siddique, 66, was fatally shot outside his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Mumbai’s Nirmal Nagar area on Saturday night. Despite being rushed to Lilavati Hospital, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The assailants are suspected of having ties to the Bishnoi gang, whose leader Lawrence Bishnoi is currently incarcerated in Gujarat’s Sabarmati Jail.

Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch is spearheading the investigation and has recorded statements from over 15 individuals, including eyewitnesses to the murder.
