In Noida’s Bisrakh area, police apprehended Rahul Chaturvedi, an IIM graduate, for allegedly defrauding over 20 women in the Delhi-NCR region.
Chaturvedi, originally from Lucknow, created fake profiles on matrimonial websites (Jeevansathi.com and Better Half) posing as a high-level executive (HR Regional Manager at Wipro) to gain their trust.
He then manipulated them into romantic relationships with promises of marriage before swindling them out of money and valuables like iPhones.
One woman, after losing Rs. 2 lakh and an iPhone, finally reported him to the police, leading to his arrest. Chaturvedi confessed to scamming at least 20 women and using forged documents to support his fabricated wealth. The investigation continues as authorities search for more potential victims.
