Rajasthan: The BJP government took away the jobs of 4,000 youths

The BJP government has canceled the ‘Rajiv Gandhi Yuva Mitra Internship Scheme’ in Rajasthan. As a result, more than 4,000 youth in the state lost their jobs. Suppose belongs to the group of unemployed.

The previous ruling Congress government had implemented the ‘Rajiv Gandhi Yuva Mitra Internship Scheme’. Under the scheme, young people were recruited as Rajiv Gandhi Yuva Mitra. The youth appointed under the scheme were working to promote many schemes of the state and central government in the state and inform the people about them—17,500 scheme employees. Salary was paid.

Now, the scheme has been terminated after the BJP came to power. Jobless youths staged a half-naked protest against the government. “Our family’s life was going on because of the project jobs. But, the government has taken away our jobs. Our life is a mess. We have been protesting for the past one month. The government is not responding to our request. We should be hired as contract workers,” the protesting youth demanded.

Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot has supported the Youth Allies protest in Jaipur. “Five thousand youths have been fired from their jobs. I condemn the government’s decision. The government should review this and withdraw the order,” he demanded.

“The BJP government has forgotten the employment promises made during its election campaign. Now the youth has been removed from the job itself. It has made the youth community unemployed. I will raise my voice in the House about this,” said Sachin Pilot.

Former CM Gehlot had announced the Yuva Mitra Internship Scheme in his budget speech for 2021-22. The BJP raised objections to this when it was in the opposition. The BJP had accused the Congress of using youth allies to propagate its ideology.
