Pilibhit (UP) (PTI): Two Bajrang Dal leaders, Sanjay Mishra and Vivek Mishra, have been booked for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad during a public meeting in Madhotanda, Uttar Pradesh, on October 13, police confirmed.
The case was registered based on a complaint by Afzal Khan, who claimed that the speeches delivered by the leaders were inflammatory and offensive to the Muslim community, said Circle Officer Puranpur, Vishal Chaudhary.
Following the incident, members of the Muslim community gathered to express their outrage. However, local authorities managed to de-escalate the situation and assured them of appropriate legal action.
A viral video of the speeches has also been included in the investigation. An FIR has been lodged, and the matter is currently under investigation.
