Mamata Banerjee Suffers Minor Injury After Slipping While Boarding Chopper in West Bengal’s Durgapur: Video Footage Emerges

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee experienced a slip and fall incident while boarding a chopper in Durgapur, Paschim Bardhaman, on Saturday, resulting in a minor injury.

A video purportedly capturing the incident circulated via news agency ANI. The footage depicts Banerjee boarding the helicopter, slipping as she proceeds to take a seat, prompting security personnel to rush to her aid. Despite the mishap, she continued her journey to Asansol.

Earlier this month, Banerjee criticized the BJP-led Centre for holding Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal across seven phases amid intense heat.

In March, Banerjee was hospitalized after sustaining significant injuries, including a deep gash on her forehead and a cut on her nose. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) had shared images of Banerjee bleeding from her forehead, urging supporters to keep her in their thoughts and prayers.

In December 2023, Banerjee visited a state-run hospital in Kolkata for treatment of injuries to her left knee and right shoulder, sustained while disembarking from a helicopter earlier that year.

Furthermore, in January of the same year, Banerjee’s car was involved in an accident when it abruptly stopped to avoid colliding with another vehicle. Banerjee, seated beside the driver, sustained injuries to her head after it struck the windscreen. As a result, she was transported back to Kolkata for medical attention.
