By-election Results: India Bloc Leads in 9 out of 13 Constituencies, NDA Faces Defeat

The Congress-led INDIA alliance, which posed a significant challenge to the BJP in the recent Lok Sabha elections, has emerged victorious in by-elections across 13 assembly seats in seven states.

In Punjab, the India Bloc has secured two seats and is leading in nine others. AAP’s Mohinder Bhagat clinched the Jalandhar West constituency with a margin of 23,000 votes. In West Bengal, Trinamool Congress candidates are ahead in four seats, while the BJP is trailing in all constituencies.

In Himachal Pradesh, Kamlesh Thakur, wife of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, has won the Dehra election. The Congress is also leading in Nalagarh, while BJP’s Ashish Sharma is ahead in Hamirpur. Congress candidates have secured victories in both the Badrinath and Mangalore constituencies of Uttarakhand.

In Madhya Pradesh, Congress’s Dheeran Shah Invati leads by 4,000 votes in the Amarwar constituency. Meanwhile, JDU’s Kaladhar Prasad Mandal is ahead in Rupauli, Bihar, and DMK’s Anniyur Siva leads by over 10,000 votes in Tamil Nadu’s Vikravandi assembly constituency.

These results indicate a strong potential for the India Bloc to challenge the NDA in upcoming elections.
