HDFC Bank Employee Dies of Apparent Work Stress

Lucknow: An HDFC Bank employee, Sadaf Fatima, tragically passed away at the bank’s Vibuti Khand branch in Gomti Nagar on Tuesday. Fatima, a high-ranking official as Additional Deputy Vice-President, collapsed at her workplace and was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The cause of death is under investigation, with colleagues suggesting excessive work pressure may have contributed.

This incident has sparked discussions about the mounting stress on employees in both the government and private sectors. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized the increasing pressure on workers, highlighting their lack of freedom to express concerns.

He also criticized Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for suggesting that youth should learn stress management, deeming it insensitive to the challenges faced by employees.
