India Welcomes Apple’s First Made-in-India iPhone 16 Pro

New Delhi (PTI): Apple announced plans to expand its retail presence in India with the opening of four new stores in Pune, Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, and Mumbai. In addition, the company revealed that it will launch its first-ever “made in India” iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max series this month.

Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of retail, expressed excitement about the company’s growth in India, highlighting the creativity and passion of its Indian customers. She emphasized the upcoming opportunities for customers to explore and purchase Apple products and services, as well as interact with knowledgeable team members.

Apple entered the Indian retail market in April 2023 with stores in Delhi and Mumbai. The planned stores in Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi-NCR, and Mumbai are anticipated to open next year.

A significant milestone, Apple announced that it would now manufacture the entire iPhone 16 lineup, including the high-end iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, in India. This marks a continuation of Apple’s manufacturing operations in India, which began in 2017.

The Made-in-India iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are expected to be available for both domestic customers and export to select countries later this month.
