In the defamation case today the supreme court gave the following 6 big relief to Rahul Gandhi in the
Defamation case.
1)The Supreme court stayed the sentence of Gujrat trial court.
2)It restored the membership of Lok Sabha till the outcome of Supreme Court’s verdict.
3)Till the verdict of the Supreme Court, Rahul Gandhi can contest election.
4)Stay on two year term. The court asked the trial court why he was given a maximum of 2 years punishment.
5)Stay on 2 years of punishment will continue till the appeal is heard in the Supreme Court.
6) The Superme court can quash the judgement of trial court or lessen the term of punishment.
In both the cases he will be continued as Member of Parliament and can contest next election.
This is seen as a boost to congress and a big blow to BJP.
