Sydney: Balesh Dhankhar, who led the Overseas Friends of the BJP in New South Wales, Australia, was found guilty by a District Court jury in Sydney of sexually attacking five women after lying to them and giving them drugs that made them unable to move. The Australian media called Dhankhar “one of the worst rapists in Sydney’s recent history.” As head of the Overseas Friends of the BJP, he was able to meet the most important Indians in Sydney. Dhankhar will go back to court next month, and he will be given a sentence later this year.
On Dhankhar’s website, there are pictures of him with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and at NSW government events where he spoke. During a search of his flat in 2018, the New South Wales Police found dozens of tapes of him having sex with women. Sometimes the women were asleep, and sometimes they fought and groaned like they were in a nightmare.
