The new year is here with Shah Rukh Khan’s latest release Dunki which released on December 21, 2023 is inching closer towards crossing the 200-crore landmark.
The movie collected ₹9.25 crore on Monday at the box office on the first day of 2024. According to a report on Sacnilk.com, Dunki had an overall occupancy of about 30.8 percent for all of its shows during the New Year. Kolkata, Delhi, Bengaluru and Chennai were the metropolitan cities which recorded the greatest number of shows during the festive season.
As per the portal, Dunki has so far collected ₹196.97 crore. The portal also wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), “Fantastic Start of 2024 At The Indian BO – All the major holdover films across languages have shown fantastic hold. Dunki and Salaar combined score close to 30 crores gross today. Animal stays over the ₹1 crore mark in Hindi and Sam Bahadur is rock solid, and so is Neru, Kaatera, and Hi Nanna. Good year ahead.”
Dunki is directed by Rajkumar Hirani while it is a multi-starrer movie, starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. Dunki also marks King Khan’s last release of 2023.
The movie also stars Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Grover and Vikram Kochhar. As per the film’s team, the movie will soon enter the ₹400 crore benchmark in the international box office.
