“The Kerala Story” Banner installed by Sangh Parivar near Kollur Mookambika Temple

Udupi: It has come to light that activists from Hindu Jagarana Vedike have hung a banner inviting visitors to the Kollur Mookambika temple to remain as Kollur Mookambika devotees.

The highly divisive film Kerala Story is being shown in multiple cities throughout the country. Meanwhile, there’s been widespread criticism of the films across the country, West Bengal included.

Many states, including West Bengal, have claimed that the movie Kerala Story, which is about a love jihad, is an attack on cinema.

Despite this, silent campaigning is being done close to Kollur, Udupi district, to promote the film. Kollur Mookambika Kshetra in Byndur Taluk attracts a significant number of worshippers each year. There is a banner here welcoming devotees in Malayalam; it reads, “watch Kerala Story, remain a devotee of Kollur Mookambika in your next race.”
