Bharat Nyay Yatra: Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh’s vehicle attacked by BJP workers

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh’s vehicle was attacked while he was on a Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Assam.

Jairam Ramesh wrote about this on social media X along with the scene, My vehicle was attacked a few minutes ago in Jumurihat. In the Suntipur area, some hooligan BJP group tore the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra sticker on the windshield of my vehicle. The crowd threw water on us and shouted against Nyay Yatra. We acted with restraint and escaped from the warehouses. This is the work of Assam Chief Minister Himant Biswa. We are not intimidated. We will advance like soldiers.

Reacting to this, Rahul Gandhi said that I and the people of Assam will not stand for all this.

During the yatra, Rahul Gandhi visited the house of Amoni Diru Pullam, who was abducted by Chinese soldiers in Arunachal Pradesh, and condoled with the family. Amoni Diru Pullam has been missing since 2015 and is said to have been abducted by Chinese soldiers.

Assam CM said to stop Yatra on January 22

The Assam Chief Minister has requested Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to suspend the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra on Prana Pratishthan Day in Ayodhya on January 22.

The Assam chief minister made this statement after Rahul Gandhi’s January 22 deployment of the army in some sensitive minority-dominated areas.

“We request Rahul Gandhi not to visit the Batadarava area on Monday when Prana Pratishthan of Ram Mandir will be held. This will send a wrong message to Assam,” the Assam Chief Minister said in a press conference.

Congress leaders have expressed outrage over the CM’s statement to prevent the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra from reaching certain areas in Assam.

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said, “Our request is under consideration. We asked for permission to travel on the right paths. But government officials are creating unnecessary confusion. We have requested the state government to travel on the Guwahati route where BJP National President JP Nadda traveled recently. They intend to stop us,” he said.
