Shaheen Group adopts Mahmud Gawan Madrasa, signs MoU with ASI

Dr. Abdul Qadeer, Chairman and Founder of Shaheen Group of Institutions has officially signed an MOU with the Archaeological Survey of India to adopt the Mahmud Gawan Madrasa in Bidar, Karnataka.

The archeological site which holds a rich history will soon be developed by Shaheen Group with necessary amenities. The amenities will include top-class hygiene with toilets for male, female and differently abled, availability of clean drinking water, baby care rooms and proper waste management systems.

The site will also have ferries, e-cart, e-rikshaw and wheelchair facility. It will also have a cafeteria, wi-fi and parking facility with CCTV surveillance.

This historic madrasa, established in 1472 by Mahmud Gawan, the Prime Minister of the Bahmani Dynasty, was once a renowned center for learning. It accommodated around 1,000 students, offering education in theology, philosophy, astronomy, mathematics, Arabic, and Persian. The madrasa also housed a library with 3,000 books, a mosque, lecture halls, and living quarters for both professors and students, attracting scholars from across the world.
