Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, has been granted bail in the Excise Policy case

Delhi’s Roose Avenue Court granted bail to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case today (March 16).

A court on Saturday granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on a surety bond of Rs 15,000 and a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh, based on two complaints filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for evading multiple summonses.

ED issued summons to Arvind Kejriwal 11 times in connection with the Delhi Excise policy case. But Kejriwal did not respond to anything, and ED approached the Roose Avenue court. So, the court ordered Kejriwal to appear before the court regarding the case. In this background, Kejriwal attended the court today. The court heard the petition and granted him bail.

Earlier in the hearing, Additional Sessions Judge Rakesh Sail, after hearing the arguments of the counsel representing Kejriwal and the Enforcement Directorate, had allowed them to appear through video conference on February 17. But he said that he has to attend the court on March 16 physically.
