A young woman scrambling for food in America; Her mother requests External Affairs Minister to bring her to India

Hyderabad: My daughter, who had gone to America to pursue her Master’s degree (MS), was scrambling for food on the streets of Chicago, and her mother has written to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to bring her back to India.

Syeda Fatima from Hyderabad has written to the Foreign Minister. Her daughter, 35-year-old Syeda Zaidi, had gone to America for her studies.

“My daughter went to America in August 2022 to pursue her master’s degree at the University of Detroit. Her money and valuables were stolen. We have not been in touch for the past two months. Hyderabadi youths there have sent photos and videos saying that she is suffering from hunger without money for food and roaming on the roads. She is depressed and they have requested that they intervene and bring her back to India”.

This letter was shared by BRS leader Khaleekur Rahman on Twitter. Khalikur Rahman also tagged a letter to Minister S Jaishankar.

This news has come to light in the media. So far Minster Jaishankar has not shared any information regarding this incident on Twitter.
