TMC’s Mahua Moitra skips ED summons, will campaign in Bengal’s Krishnanagar

TMC leader Mahua Moitra, who received her Enforcement Directorate summons and was supposed to mark her presence in New Delhi recently said that she will campaign in her Krishnanagar constituency on Thursday.

“I will be out for campaigning in the Krishnangar constituency in the afternoon,” Moitra told the reporters. It is to be noticed that Moitra was expelled from the Lok Sabha in December for her “unethical conduct”. While the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has retained its faith on Moitra and had renominated her from West Bengal’s Krishnanagar seat for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, 2024.

Earlier on Saturday, The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had raided her premises and also her office in connection with the cash-for-query case, which was few days after anti-corruption ombudsman Lokpal directed the federal agency for investigating the allegations that were levelled against her by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey. While Moitra on the other hand had always denied such allegations.
