Tel Aviv – Israeli settlers in Tel Aviv and across the occupied Palestinian territories were forced into underground shelters as Iranian ballistic missiles struck critical targets on Tuesday night. Israeli authorities, under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s regime, issued emergency orders, urging settlers to take refuge in hideouts until further notice.
As air raid sirens blared across the region, panic spread among civilians, with images circulating on social media showing frightened settlers hiding under bridges, in underground tunnels, and subways. The missile barrage overwhelmed Israel’s much-touted air defense systems, with preliminary reports indicating that 90 percent of the missiles hit their intended targets, including key military installations.
Footage from the scene revealed plumes of smoke and fire lighting up the night sky, with multiple military sites severely damaged. Despite activating air raid sirens as the missiles approached, the Israeli defense systems failed to intercept the majority of the incoming missiles.
In a further development, Israeli media reported that Prime Minister Netanyahu and his war ministers went into hiding as the attacks unfolded, leaving the nation in shock.
